3 Things You Need to Have in Your Gym Bag (But Probably Don’t)


You lug your bag into the gym every day, but did you ever stop to think that your bag might not have all the fitness essentials that you need for a great workout? Time to take inventory of your gym bag to ensure it’s stocked with these commonly overlooked items.

Athletic Tape

Athletic tape can be a lifesaver when you’re at the gym—especially if you’re a weight lifter and you don’t use gloves or your gloves become ripped. A little bit of athletic tape can go a long way in protecting your hands from blistering and other injuries while lifting weights.

Extra Gym Clothes

If you head to the gym straight from work or school, it’s inevitable that you’re going to forget your gym clothes one of these days. To avoid sabotaging your whole workout, always keep a spare change of gym clothes (including socks) in your bag; you never know when they might come in handy.

Exercise Journal

Finally, if you don’t already keep track of your workouts on your phone, make sure you’ve at least got an exercise journal packed away in your bag. Otherwise, it’s not always easy to remember what you did at the gym so you can record it when you get home.
